Advanced Marine & Offshore Energy Management
At N-Freq Tech, we’re redefining marine energy with a bold vision: sustainable, high-performance power systems for the ships of tomorrow. We combine proven engineering with innovation, helping shipowners and operators reduce emissions, cut operating costs, and improve reliability — without compromising on performance.
Why Choose N-Freq Tech?
Our Core Technologies & Capabilities
Here is a more technical breakdown of what we bring to the table — and how we turn that into real value for vessel operators:
Drives

Drives: We work with Siemens, Vacon, and ABB variable-frequency drives for propulsion or auxiliary systems. These drives support flexible speed control, peak shaving, and seamless integration with generators and batteries.
Active Front Ends (AFE): By integrating AFEs, we enable bidirectional power flow and regeneration — allowing the system to recover braking energy or feed back into the DC bus.
DC-DC Conversion: We design and integrate high-efficiency DC-DC converters to manage voltage levels between the battery bank and the DC bus, ensuring compatibility and minimizing losses.
ESS

Energy Battery Banks: We deploy modular lithium-ion systems (e.g., Corvus Orca, Dolphin, Blue Whale) tailored to vessel size and duty cycle. Corvus is a global pioneer in marine ESS, with numerous hybrid and all-electric ship installations.
Load Levelling & Peak Shaving: Our systems enable load levelling to optimize generator load and minimize fuel consumption.
Black-Start Capability: With ESS, vessels can perform safe black starts, recover from black-outs, and operate in zero-emission mode in port.
Shore & On-board Charging: We design systems for both fast recharging from shore and onboard generation, depending on the vessel’s use-case. For example, Corvus batteries can help “regenerate” energy when engines are operating efficiently, storing it for later use.
PMS

Efficiency optimization: Engines run at their most efficient operating point, while batteries compensate for transient peaks.
Reliability & Safety: Protection and coordination logic reduce risk of faults, blackouts, and over-stress on system components.
Redundancy: Our hybrid approach supports fallback modes — battery can support critical loads, or regenerate during low-load periods.
New Business Line: Hybrid & Electric Vessels
N-Freq Tech is now launching a dedicated division to serve the next generation of marine transportation. Our target areas:

Hybrid Ferries and Workboats
- Design and retrofit of Ro-Pax, commuter, and harbor vessels.
- Leverage battery storage to operate in “zero-emission mode” while docked or in protected waters, improving air quality and reducing noise.
- Use regenerative energy and load leveling to maximize fuel savings and engine life.

Hybrid Merchant & Offshore Vessels
- Container ships, short-sea bulkers, and platform support vessels equipped with ESS for peak shaving and blackout protection.
- Hybrid PSVs (Platform Supply Vessels) with battery power for critical operations like dynamic positioning.

Fully Electric Vessels
- All-electric ships leveraging large-scale battery systems. For example, Corvus is already supplying a 25 MWh battery for the first-ever fully electric offshore service vessel.
- Design of DC-grid architectures to minimize energy losses and ensure efficient power distribution on board.
